Shipping Federation of Canada

This organization includes all leading companies engaged in ship agency and operations in Eastern Canada. The Shipping Federation, based in Montreal, has its own secretariat and handles technical matters, such as pilotage etc., and liaison between government authorities and industry.

In 1903 the Company was a founding member of The Shipping Federation and is currently represented on its Executive Council.

Chamber of Shipping of British Columbia

Like its counterpart in Eastern Canada, the Chamber includes all leading companies engaged in ship agency and operations in British Columbia. Based in Vancouver its own secretariat also handles technical matters, such as pilotage etc.

Maritime Employers' Association

The Company is a founding member of this organization which was formed in 1968 to handle collective bargaining for shore labour at all Eastern Canadian ports. Mr. Ross Kennedy serves on the Board of Directors.

British Columbia Maritime Employers' Association

This organization was also formed to handle collective bargaining for shore labour at all Western Canadian ports.

Ocean Transport Insurance Mutual

The Company has been entered with this P and I Club since July 1, 1993. The role of the club is to provide protection and indemnity services to its members.

Laurentian Pilotage Authority

This Crown Corporation operates and administers pilotage on the St. Lawrence River, and the Company has been represented on the Board since its inception in 1972.

Advisory Councils on Oil Spill Response

Four regional Advisory Councils have been established as private sector advisory bodies to the Commissioner of the Coast Guard. The Company is represented on the Central Regional Advisory Council.
